Glacier Landing

Start your adventure from the Reykjavik Domestic Airport and head onwards toward Þórisjökull glacier. The landing on this tour is on Þórisjökull glacier, next to Langjökull glacier, and we grant you the chance to set foot on it. Enjoy the almost unrealistic view and the magical feeling of walking on top of a glacier. The glacier itself is covered in snow all year round, so you can take a deep breath of the fresh alpine air, make snow angels, or throw snowballs as far as you possibly can. From the peak of the glacier you can see the distinctive features of the wild highlands of Iceland. We then head off to the shield volcano Skjaldbreiður and fly over its crater (sorry, it is an old volcano crater so no lava will be visible).

Waterfalls & Valleys

The Waterfalls & Valleys tour has three main attractions - the grand Glymur waterfall, the UNESCO World Heritage Site - Þingvellir National Park (both also known from the famous Golden Circle tour), and the Hengill geothermal area where we land. Setting off from the urban views of Reykjavik, we will catch a glimpse of Esja, the mountain just next to the city border. En route we'll see the highest waterfall in Iceland - Glymur. It is a popular hiking area but nothing beats the view you get from a helicopter! Next, the Þingvellir National Park, with its absolutely magical culture and nature. Besides being a sacred place for all Icelandic people, and an important part of the country's history - it is a once in a lifetime experience to see it from the sky. At ground level, it's hard to grasp the idea that two tectonic plates that drifted apart actually created Iceland... that's why we take flight!

Countless Craters

Catch a glimpse of the rough but magical beauty Iceland's volcanic landscape is known for. As you soar above the moonlike Reykjanes peninsula you will get to truly appreciate its grandeur - something only possible from air. You will see countless volcanic craters, the unforgiving ocean lining the coast, the Seltún geothermal area, the Blue Lagoon, Lake Kleifarvatn and Lake Grænavatn. Of course no tour would be complete without a landing and time to explore... on this tour we stop at Eldvörp on the Reykjanes Peninsula in the southwest of the island. It is a 10 km long crater row that contains extensive geothermal activity so you will always see steam rising from the earth. This combination of rugged coastline and rising steam will make it feel like you've landed on another planet entirely!

As we take off smoothly from the airport, you'll see how quickly the city gets smaller and smaller beneath us, with every turn of the helicopter's wings. Further into the tour we land on a nearby summit where you'll have the chance to capture a silent panorama of the vast blue ocean that hugs the city shore and catch sight of the small islands scattered in the distance.
